As our Temple is currently invitation-only at this time, we anticipate many inquiries. We hope to address the most common concerns here.

 

DO YOU THINK YOU OWN BAPHOMET?

No, that’s a ridiculous assumption. No one owns a deity, much less one with a history long past the copyright laws of any country. We view the abuses of copyrighting anything to do with Baphomet as immature and silly. We are well aware of the various traditions that have used Baphomet as a figure previous to us, and we are just one among them. However, Baphomet is our focal point and not merely one aspect. Magicians of various persuasions work with Baphomet. They need no permission from us, or anyone, to do so.

 

DO YOU WORSHIP SATAN?

No. We reject the notion that anything outside some Abrahamic faith or specific denomination is devil-worship or Satanism. We do recognize the use of Baphomet by Modern Satanists and do not reject their view as one aspect among many that we see in Baphomet. We only wish that more Satanists researched Baphomet, or Satan while we are at it, instead of vainly and insincerely using the imagery. For us, Baphomet’s association with Satanism is just one part of the much larger picture of the figure. The long history of Baphomet reinforces this perspective when compared to the short history of Modern Satanism.

 

ARE YOU MASONIC, THELEMIC, WITCHES, OR SATANISTS, ETC.?

No. As stated before, we recognize Baphomet throughout history and accept all aspects of Baphomet. According to our motto of “ Sincere and Sacred Silence ,” we do not ally with any other organization or doctrine. Our members are free to associate with other groups on their own accord.

 

SO WHAT ARE YOU THEN?

We prefer the terms we coined of Baphometic, Baphometian, and Baphometianism. Our focus is on theurgy and the techniques of European, Mediterranian, and Eastern mysticism and magic.

 

HOW DO I JOIN?

At this time, we operate on an invitation-only format due to the high demands that our Temple requires to fulfill the work with Baphomet. We may change this policy later, but we would still be more strenuous than most orders. Our criteria are based on personality and life choices; never on characteristics of birth.

 

I SEE BAPHOMET AS ANDROGYNE, TRANS, DIVINE HERMAPHRODITE, ETC.

Yes! We see, recognize, and work with this aspect as well among many, many other elements.

 

Do you accept LGBTQ+, POC, or other minorities?

Absolutely. The history of Baphomet is a mixture of so many cultures and often minority paradigms that to not accept anyone based on birth circumstances would be an insult to Baphomet! As stated above, we do not discriminate based on any characteristic of birth. We only evaluate your ability to be sincere, sacred, and silent. These three virtues are much harder to fulfill than many believe.

 

I’ve grown a lot in the past five years. Will you hold my old Social Media posts against me?

Probably. Unless we also see your growth reflected on the same platform. Many people claim to be rational, mature, or good individuals. Very few are. The work we do is hard work, and we do not wish to set anyone up for failure. To do so would simply be a waste of everyone’s time. Think of being rejected by us as doing you a favor. Often we may point you to a magical or religious paradigm more suited to your personality. We wish no ill on any we turn down. We just might not be a good fit for you.

 

I turned your invitation down, can I join now?

No. We knock once, and once only.
